About me
Dominion Farm St. Croix Hair Sheep
After 32 years working in the airline industry, a change was a comin.' Heading down Rt. 81 South, I left Corporate America in the rear view mirror and settled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. I never looked back.
My small acreage is nestled among beef, dairy, and poultry farms. With wonderful neighbors and friends, spectacular views, and the joy of raising St. Croix Hair Sheep, I am truly blessed.
From Llamas to Lambs
In the farming community surrounding me, farmers keep llamas in their fields to protect their livestock from coyotes. A neighbor called me to see if I would like to raise an orphaned llama, a cria.
Well, of course, I jumped right in, and Lilly came to the farm only a few hours old. Fast forward six months later, and my Lilly was getting a bit too large to live in the kitchen. By the way, llamas can be housebroken!

Lilly's First Steps
Lilly needed to live in a pasture but she was not pleased with her new accommodations. She screamed for days and half the nights and needed a companion and a job! The answer was sheep and after lots of research, I chose St. Croix Hair Sheep. I purchased two ewes in Pennsylvania and a ram in Southern Virginia.
Eight years later, my excitement with these sheep has not diminished. Every Spring, when the lambs are born, my joy is renewed.
As the new East Coast Director for the St. Croix Hair Sheep International Association (www.stcroixhairsheep.org), my goal is to promote these amazing sheep throughout the East Coast and beyond. With that said, I will always be available to work with new shepherds just starting a flock, and others who are interested in improving their flock with St. Croix.
Our Dominion Farm Blog will share great information and videos about our breed, along with our progress with the new barn and how we build-out our lambing jugs. Stay tuned!
